Midnight in Paris? Beautiful. Pretty good movie too. Midnight in Mumbai? Slightly more crowded, equally (if not more) charming. But if we’re talking movies, Midnight in Mumbai trumps Paris, London, New York and every other city for us. For starters, it’s not just one film, its an amalgamation of films from all over the world, whispering stories into your ear at midnight. You don’t know what you might just hear, or which year from, or which ear from 😉
These earrings have been made using 16mm found footage film sourced from forgotten godowns across the country. Each piece is unique having lived its own history. The film used ranges from the 50’s through the 90’s. The making happens at our studio in Mumbai and helps us sustain our artistic practice of working with celluloid and as an arts and performance space.
